Endometrial Cancer Advocacy: How to Get Involved This June

The Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO), in partnership with patient advocacy groups, is working to secure an endometrial cancer research funding line in the Department of Defense (DoD) Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) with $10 million for fiscal year 2024.

The CDMRP receives congressional appropriations explicitly for biomedical research in specific, congressionally identified health issues.

Endometrial cancer research does not currently have a predictable and regular funding source, which a separate CDMRP funding line would provide.

With a dedicated funding line, researchers will have greater support for their work leading to an advanced understanding of this cancer and the racial differences and disparities, thereby improving outcomes for women with the disease.

While all endometrial cancer patients, their care networks, and/or survivors are welcome to raise their voice about this important priority, we particularly encourage those with a connection to the military to share their stories and get involved.
