Uterine Cancer Awareness Month Researcher Feature: Danielle Krause, MD

Danielle Krause, MD, of University of Oklahoma, is the FWC 2022-2023 recipient of the Wilma Williams Education and Clinical Research Award for Endometrial Cancer.

In this video, Dr. Krause discusses her research that explores the link between endometrial cancer, obesity, and weight loss drugs.

“It is well known that obesity is linked to one of the most common types of endometrial cancer, grade one endometrial cancer,” Dr. Krause shared. “With the rising popularity of a lot of different weight loss drugs, in particular GLP-1 receptor agonists, more commonly known as Semaglutide, Ozempic, Wegovy, our specific research is looking at the effect of these drugs on endometrial cancer and its precursor endometrial hyperplasia. The FWC grant specifically allows us to continue this work.”
