According to the American Cancer Society, this year in the United States about 6,120 cancers of the vulva will be diagnosed and about 1,550 women will die of this cancer. An awareness month for vulvar cancer is being led and organized by vulvar cancer advocates.
The Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) acknowledges the need to bring more awareness to vulvar cancer, and we appreciate the efforts of patient advocates for pushing us to do more and further our mission of increasing public awareness of gynecologic cancers. The following resources on vulvar cancer are currently available on the FWC website or YouTube channel:
- Vulvar cancer page
- Vulvar cancer social media graphic
- Vulvar cancer patient survivor story
- Gynecologic Cancer Awareness Month resources (including information specific to vulvar cancer)
To bring about even more awareness, the Foundation encourages survivors of vulvar cancer to share their story through the FWC website for possible consideration as a Your Story feature.
