FWC Board Of Directors Appointments
The Foundation for Women’s Cancer (FWC) would like to congratulate the following Society of Gynecologic Oncology (SGO) members appointed to serve on the FWC Board of Directors:

The new members of the FWC Board of Directors began their terms after the SGO’s 50th Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer, March 16-19, 2019.
SGO Distinguished Service Award
On Saturday, March 16, 2019 at the SGO’s 50th Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer, FWC Board Chair David G. Mutch, MD was one of three honored with the SGO Distinguished Service Award.
This award recognizes individuals who, over an extended period of time, display continuous praiseworthy service in the field of gynecologic oncology.
FWC Distinguished Service Award
On Sunday, March 17, 2019 at the SGO’s 50th Annual Meeting on Women’s Cancer, FWC Executive Director Karen Carlson was honored with the FWC Distinguished Service Award for her 31 years of service to the SGO and FWC.
During her tenure as executive director of the foundation, over $60 million has been raised for FWC—including $8.5 million for research—and more than 11,000 people have benefited from 120 education courses hosted by the FWC throughout the country.

The FWC and The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center are pleased to offer a free education course for all gynecologic cancer patients, survivors, partners, family members, friends and anyone else interested in hearing from leading U.S. experts in gynecologic cancer treatment and research. Topics include clinical trials, managing side effects of chemotherapy, nutrition for cancer patients and supportive care.
This full-day session will have continental breakfast and lunch. While there is no charge for attendance, we ask that you please register in advance to help with planning.
